The writing has been on the wall in bright yellow highlight since 2008. The GOP lost its friggin mind when a Black man won the Oval Office. -- (edited)

And then he won it *again*.

I know it's a tough thing for some people to admit - that this party imploded so fractiously over the race of the Highest Officer of the Executive, but that's exactly what happened. It's what started the Tea Party and the Birthers and the rest of this hateful, hateful destructive course of obstruction and do-nothingness 'as long as the Black Guy suggests we do it'.

Now the leading GOP candidate for President is being cheered for saying he's going to shoot someone and then cheered some more for saying he's going to punch someone else in the face. No wonder he 'loves the poorly educated'.

Republicans should be ashamed of themselves for not demanding better from their side. When 'rational' and 'sane' is the bar and that bar is being summarily ignored by a huge portion of your electorate something is incredibly wrong.
