Superman's "weakness" is self-imposed limitations.

He has the power to rule the world as an all-powerful dictator.
Written properly, his story could be an exploration of power and how to use it without abusing it.
Instead Snyder gave us a whiney asshole with very little ability to think beyond the moment.
