keep in mind all of them are self-contained, but you take the stuff back with you to the main map/story
Dead Money: has a very different gimmick for the first half of it, where if you wander too far off the path you'll die. Decent story.
Honest Hearts: eh, it was okay.
Old World Blues: very funny, and solid story. the room there will become your go to base when you complete it.
Lonesome Road: ties together the story and gives it some context, though there's hints of it in each of the other DLC packs.
