his comment about dropping Trump like a hot potato to protect his majority was inquired about...he "Oh, I don't know what you are talking about *big grin*"
They can protect the brand as best they can (Ryan's angry press conference about the slow condemnation of the KKK), but they can't out and out hate him.
Others in the caucus can be freer to do so.
