We are in agreement. Just trying to discuss how the better understanding both pols and the public have today sometimes

affects our view of how things were handled in the past.
Because in the 80s, at least as far as I remember it as a pre-teen/teen then, is that it was mostly viewed much more simplistically, sometimes even by the medical profession.
IOW, Just Say No was a step in the right direction, but it was the only step taken because it was widely viewed as the only step needed.
