Though I'm thoroughly amused by this whole "how dare you be "petty" and hold our guy to the same standards we held your guy to" nonsense. Like I said last week when it came up Bush was skewered mercilessly for the holding hands incident but Obama bows to the king and not only is it denied as a bow by some but then there's the whole "so what" contingent many of whom I have no doubt were part of the pitchfork and torches crowd over Bush's incident. Your side set the outrage sensitivity threshold during the last eight years seems a little whiny to me that now people are upset that that standard continues to be used.
And yes, it is a gaffe. He made a promise that he didn't follow through on. Like I said on the last board if he knew how hard it would be he never should have said that he'd adopt a shelter dog, then this isn't even an issue, no matter how small. And yes, it is small. It's a 1 on the scale in the grand scheme of things. But Obama isn't perfect, no matter how much he's been built up. He's going to make mistakes. Denying that he's making mistakes by hiding behind this "you're just saying something because of how your guy was treated" nonsense only makes it worse.
Serious question to end here. What does he have to do, how bad does he have to screw up for criticism of him to be "valid" in your eyes?
