It's a double edge sword of good and some possibly bad IMO

As has been documented here, I side on issues even more strongly with Bernie than Hillary (though Bernie's taking a position or two lately that might lessen his lead with a little). I love seeing these liberal ideas being discussed in the mainstream (and, if not for Trump, they'd probably get even more coverage, which would be great). He's doing his part to move the electorate to the left and I am all for that.
The possible downside: the general electorate is nowhere near ready for that in this election. That's why I'm voting for Hillary, she's simply far more electable in the general. But the longer Bernie is in, the further to the left he pulls her, the more damage he does to the Dem candidate in the general election.
