so my junior TA quit so we have to hire a new senior TA for next year. this means that first year students are swarming all around me,

kissing my ass more than usual, asking me to hire them.

I have narrowed down my replacement to three people. I interviewed one of them last friday and have two more yet to talk to.

the one I spoke to on friday has emailed me three times so far today, demanding to know why I'm not just giving the position to him, why I'm interviewing the other people.

like because he applied first, he should get the job? it's kind of maddening. this is not how jobs are awarded in the united states, varun!
