We mock them harshly. It seems like everyone chokes in their hometown. They get cocky and make stupid mistakes.

New Yorkers should have an advantage knowing the streets but unless you're downtown it's a numbered grid so Manhattan is easy to navigate. The boroughs can be tricky and that's where a local should shine but they end up failing.
