It is completely unfair on my daughter's part.

We've always been extraordinarily close so I think that having my attention distracted from her has been harder for her. She's also 16 and a junior in high school, so she's pretty self-absorbed as well and doesn't want to be bothered with this. It's not like she's even around that much anyway, going out with friends, the horse stuff, up in her room doing homework. It's not fair, but it is the way it is nonetheless.
