I try to be cautious of confirmation bias. If I see or come across a link/story that makes me go "see, I *knew* it!" I tend to pause

and then I double check the veracity of my source. Because it tends to be those kinds of stories (on both the right and the left) that fool people. If it seems too perfect to be true, it just might be.
