if you a leasing an apartment, could the management actually refuse a payment?

for instance, say you get a cashiers check, could they say "nope, we wont accept that payment because it isnt a personal check from you or a direct withdrawal from your bank account"?

the lease doesnt say anything about required forms of payment.
