It was everything that the rest of the movie was not. That car chase was Michael Bay - level incoherent.

Also, think about what Lois did at the end from only her perspective. She came in on a billionaire in armor killing her boyfriend, threw a glowing spear in the water, looked outside and then for some reason knew she had to get it, only to throw herself underwater (!) when rubble was collapsing into it.
