that was one of the more powerful moments in any of the movies. It surprised me given how we had just a 1 movie history with her. That bodes well for the character and the trilogy. The more I thought about it the more it obviously was an updated copy of the original. I fault them for that but also I understand it. They couldn't afford to fuck it up. They copied the original but threaded in the story aspects they really want to explore, like the things you mention. In the bones of the SW stories is bits about kids growing into their true selves. It's always been about that and this movie was no different.
