Holy keeerap. Never rent from Thrifty (or Dollar,I suppose)

For the trip to Atlanta, I prepaid the rental car through Expedia, getting a full size. Because of delays, we got in to Atlanta at about 1 am. At the rental counter, the guy says, "oh, you're going to get a great deal today, I'm putting you in an SUV." OK, I think, and in my bleary state, I don't read the rental slip other than to make sure I'm initialing for no insurance, which the clerk was really pushy about. I return then get the receipt emailed which is close to the original number so I don't think about it until I look at my Cc receipt and see the second charge. I think it's s simple mistake and they forgot to recognize my pre pay.

Nope, turns out buddy signed me up for a $28/day upgrade without informing me or telling me the cost. Customer service says, "you agreed to it and we can't go off verbal statements". They're giving my back half the upgrade charge but ye gods. I have half a mind to dispute the charge with MC, although I don't know if they'd do anything since I signed it.
