My guess is that this guy and most of the supporters have no knowledge of the SCOTUS case or the context of the federal law and it's why they're -- (edited)

baffled about the push back. And on some level I get why they're baffled. In they're mind it's simply reinforcement of their understanding of the 1st amendment. What they should understand is the context of 1993 v. 2016 (even if they don't know SCOTUS ruling). People see this for what it is (even when the proponents don't want to acknowledge or admit it, maybe even to themselves). Trying to create a path to legally discriminate. The part I always love also is the constant reinforcement of their belief that they are entitled to every constitutional protection possible, but others aren't if they disagree with them. They're objecting to being "bullied" into not getting the law they want by people exercising their free speech rights. By people using their economic leverage in a completely legal way. That's always the crux of the issue in these cases. The belief that their own constitutional rights trump those of others.
