it managed to create drama with the action, not just have the action be superficially fun. When SCarol does what she does in the Burn Room - it's parts shocking, not shocking, cheer inducing, cringe worthy...
They managed to perfectly create tension and action with character development. This is something the writing team rarely is able to pull off.
