Which is strange since they didn't want the backend of season 1 becuase they had a perfectly good ending for their mythology at the time

I remember the show runner saying they had everything planned out and instead of getting extra episodes, 13 that year was enough to get to where they wanted; without having to pad to 22.
They seemed so assured of a plan.
