I think if I had a gun to my head I'd go with "Shawshank". It's just a beautiful film. It says so much about humanity, existence, what it means to live and yet packs in fascinating stories and characters.
Next would be GF 1 and 2. So good I can just give the initials and everyone knows.
SPR is on the list - I'll never think of war the same since seeing it. It put images to the look in one of my grandfather's eyes when he would talk about it.
Schindler is also on the list. It's so repulsively evil. There are scenes at make every single one of us, anyone with goodness in them, sob...mine is the scene with the little girl in the red coat and then...when you see her later.
JAWS and The Exorcist are on the list. Both are masterpieces in frightening you with minimal visuals. They are the best examples of the horror movies that frighten you to the core because of what you don't see.
