if buying from the store, use low-sodium. Also, store bought beef broth doesn't have much beef in it,

less than chicken does. Something about the FDA regulations. In many places that call for beef you can substitute chicken with no problem.
The obvious best way is to make your own - but that takes for ever and is often impractical.
Also, if you plan to use bouillon, use betterthanbouillon. I always keep a couple of jars in the fridge.
