it's a big enough lose, the opening picks up immediately and deals with the aftermath. Let's say it's Glenn...you have Maggie reacting to it which would be horrific. You'd have Rick, losing one of the people he saved from the beginning (remember how he was in the beginning?)...you have the group reacting.

I suppose they could have gotten away with doing it the way they did had they had enough credit with the audience but I don't think they do. Too often they resort to lazy or bad writing...writing for the conclusion and having to contrive events to make it happen.
