giving the sense that Eugene could have an arc. Don't waste the audience's time with his development. But if you're going to tease development at least show it's failure. The fact that they didn't even bother to demonstrate his failure means they really didn't care about the potential they teased. It was a complete waste.

It's also damaging to the show. I won't trust a character's transition ever again if they're simply going to ignore what they've spent time building with Eugene. The more I think of it, this is the thing I dislike most about the finale. It's sloppy.
