In order for that to happen they had to have Negan's group be omniscient as others have mentioned. It was very lucky of Negan's group to know exactly where Rick's group was running in panic and know where to park all their stuff. If Rick's group veers to the Left or the Right...Negan's plan fails.

Then you had to have Eugene fail, unseen. The fact that it failed means you have to show it.

Again, a show that was more trusted could get away with this. Not so TWD. It's starting to feel like Lost.
