Q: I Hate Waste
My teen daughter has a very nice friend; smart, pleasant, engaging. We include her in many family activities. But this young woman Does. Not. Eat. When she joins us at a restaurant, she orders a full meal, has a bite or two, pushes the rest around on the plate, then leaves it. Every time. I have no interest in labeling this as a disorder, or making it a huge issue. I just want the leftovers. She tells the server to discard them; I have no problem eating them for lunch the next day even though they are "someone else's". My wife feels this is grasping, cheapskate behavior that makes us look like low-lifes. I think..well...I paid for it, I should be able to choose to take it home if I wish. I'd appreciate your thoughts.
[pixie sez: dad needs to spend some of his hard-earned money on a clue about why the kid isn't eating]
