she got stress fractures in her hip and lower spine during boot camp. They don't differentiate between men/women, so they all were carrying 40+ lb ruck sacks through the woods. She's only like 110 lbs herself, and while she was strengthening up going through boot camp, her frame couldn't take it. They sent her home for 30 days, but she didn't heal. After going back they finally agreed that they had been the reason for her injury, so she got a full discharge and has full veteran status. (I believe - I'm not sure if it's a for life veteran status, but I think so.)
