Really non-linear, which I think works pretty well. A lot of it doesn't fit to make a cohesive whole though (e.g. why we needed to see the Miles Ahead/Milestones sessions with Gil Evans was unclear if a bit neat-o).
A surprising amount of buddy action comedy thrown in... in fact that's the main plot.
Some nice cameos.
