"fashion and the popular whim" is not equal to voting.

If you want to spread out the sate primaries as they are today, go ahead. But add up the vote at the end. Drop caucuses, WTA, proportional congressional districts, etc, and let the popular vote decide.

The systems today re designed to subvert democracy and grant power to parties.
