Exactly. The movie is predicated on people being stupid and not understanding what happened.

To be fair, I'm more informed than most. But it was still pretty simple before Margot Robbie or Anthony Bordain, who I think just muddied the explanation.
Ultimately, this movie simply puts names and faces to the actors in this tragedy.
