It's possible that there is more to the story of the shooting on Saints DE Will Smith than just road rage.

The guy who shot him is Cardell Hayes. Hayes's father was shot and killed by NOPD in 2005 (Hayes sued the city over it and won an undisclosed settlement). Apparently Smith had dinner with one of the officers involved (either last night or Friday night).
Could be coincidence, but hell of a coincidence if so.
