It protects the party and I'm okay with it. I would like same day registration, early voting and every other way to make voting easier.

But if you want to switch parties you need to do it ahead of time so as to not have people joining that aren't actually interested in the party platform but of messing with the election.

    - Yeah, NY doesn't do 15 day or same day for anyone. Even for brand new registrations, deadline was March 25 for April 19 primary. - ty97 Apr 10, 12:42 1
