True enough. I've considered one way of easing the concerns of my children is to say the other parents are the "weirdos".

For a child, telling them that mom and dad are fine and it's only these guys who have trouble must surely be reassuring. At the bare minimum, it must be easier to grasp than telling them "Mom and dad are special and in fact most other divorced parents don't have it as easy."
