We started giving her money to manage for stuff. She budgets and spends her own money for stuff like girl scout/church activities, birthday parties, etc...

We thought about getting her a prepaid debit/credit card to start teaching her that side as well but the fees are a killer. I heard a podcast with the Simple guy yesterday and it seems like it might work. It has a debit/ATM card and if she loses it we can put a stop on the card right on our phones. Plus we can deposit birthday checks and stuff from our phones.

I just need to see if it's really as good as it sounds.
