"Would you be willing to pay more in taxes to save an even larger amount in out of pocket costs for healthcare and tuition" the answers would likely be different.

Just asking what people would give in dollars without stipulating what they would get in dollars in return, isn't going to get very good responses.

There will still be people unwilling to pay more now against hypothetical returns later, but the question would at least be less poorly framed.

I think that question is just as loaded. "Would you be willing to pay more to save *even more*" is basically "answer no if you're an idiot" - Roger More Apr 14, 10:50 1
