I think that question is just as loaded. "Would you be willing to pay more to save *even more*" is basically "answer no if you're an idiot"

The other thing is that what people get out of it is different for everyone. I probably wouldn't get anything personally out of free tuition, for example. Some people might not want to pay more taxes to cover healthcare costs they're unlikely to incur until long into the future, etc.
