Its not how its described in the complaint, but I can imagine a scenario where the decorator does the correct inscription, goes off to take a break and asks a coworker to ring it up when the guy comes back (or maybe it was already paid for?), coworker then modifies the inscription and places the cake in a bag for the customer to collect. Would explain the color match, but different hand on the inscription.
