If you feed people crap multiple times, they don't come back for extras as willingly.

Partially explains why something like X-Men First Class was weaker but better after the double-header of shit that was X3 and Wolverine Origins.

Audiences lose trust, you have to earn it back and WB/DC need to do that now.
