So we aren't just making this up, right? Is it just that as we get older we are more aware of the people that pass? Or is 2016 really an anomaly? -- nm

Seems like an anomaly in terms of famous people under 70. I think looms a little larger than it should because we're also noticing those over 70. -- nm

I would say a combination of the two. A little heavier on 2016 being an anomaly. But also these are people we grew up with so it stands out more. -- nm

I think you're just more aware of the passing of famous people, because they are the names you grew up with. -- nm

2016 is definitely an anomaly. It feels like almost every other day at this point.

The latter. The cultural explosion of artists born in the 40's through 60's in older age combined with the expansion of "celebrity" itself. -- nm

I definitely agree that there are just way more "Famous" people now than there used to be. -- nm
