FWIW, here are my Game of Thrones power rankings for players... (spoilers)

The best people at playing the game are:

1) Littlefinger
2) The Spider
3) Tyrion
4) Roose Bolton
5) Jorah Mormont

The people best positioned in the game right now are:

1) Cersei Lannister -- she's the alpha Lannister, problems notwithstanding. Plus, she's got a Mountain Zombie and her non-alpha twin at her disposal.

2) Roose Bolton -- devastating intellect and a keen ability to care less about anything other than power. I maintain that he's played the best overall game thus far on Game of Thrones.

3) Littlefinger -- off army building at the moment. He's the scariest creature (with a pulse) in the Seven Kingdoms. May be afk for a while longer, though.

4) Khaleesi - is there such a thing as Indentured Queen? This is the first time in ages she hasn't been top two in the power rankings.

5) Ramsay Bolton -- everybody expects him to rise up and kill his father one day. I love that the season premiere reminded everyone just how replaceable he is. As the popular opinion favors Ramsay over Roose, I'm expecting the opposite. GoT already did the jealous son slays father angle. This time, I'm expecting the even-handed papa to either directly end his bastard offspring or turn his back in a way that causes it.

6) Tyrion Lannister -- finally has a throne to rule and a worthy advisor to aid him. Alas, he's basically a glorified Veep at the moment.

7) Ellaria Sand -- coup de tat never looked quite so sexy. It's also nice that after countless television shows where somebody kills her, she's finally doing some killing of her own.

8) Spider -- doesn't seem to want to rule on his own, but he's closer to a crown than ever right now.

9) Margaery Tyrell -- currently in jail and getting the "Confess!" treatment, the woman who wants to be THE Queen is still technically A Queen at King's Landing right now. I expect one of her or her brother to escape, and she seems more relevant to the plot. If/when she gets out, there's going to be a reckoning.

10) Sansa Stark - She's had the proverbial hard knock life lately, but now she's got a servant/royal ally, a Knightess with (recent) king's blood on her sword, and the favor of Littlefinger due to her resemblance to her mother. Sansa is moving up in the world.
