You should google the day of the trade. The Dodgers did it because they got four years of control of Alex Wood plus Atlanta's number one prospect.

What he's done with Atlanta is an entirely different conversation. It's like he stopped trying to fit into the American way of life and ceded all professional responsibility.
Olivera was hitting .387 at the time of the trade. The only knock against him other than age was that he was injured at that specific moment and had missed a couple of weeks.
