Yup, like they say, that's what happens when you look at the real natural world. I'm sitting here watching the Starr Ranch owlets tearing into various

small rodents. We cheer every time the parents drop off new prey.
OTOH, yesterday there was real drama when this year's Kestrel chicks all died within a couple of days. Again lack of prey was probably the main cause. One watcher wanted the sanctuary manager to rescue the last chick and hand raise it. That's just not how a nature sanctuary works.
