I think Trump has scared enough of the establishment GOP (and their donors) to speed up the reform.

They saw they couldn't buy it out from under him. They realized that all the subtle racism and class warfare (while accusing the Warren wing of the same thing for pointing out the class warfare) finally created something they couldn't control. They had it with Dubya, surrounded him with the strong personalities. But Trump is entirely out of their control. They're frightened by all of this.
I wonder what will happen with Tea Party funding now. That should tell us something.
