That it may just be virtually impossible for a person to run the gauntlet of becoming the candidate and emerging as someone that is universally still liked.

When we can look up everything they've ever publicly said and every vote and every decision they've basically ever made and then shine a light on it for a prolonged period of time.

I wonder if it's just inevitable that all that does is push their favorables lower and lower.

I think one factor is that both candidates are extremely well known by the general electorate far earlier in the cycle than normal. - ty97 May 5, 07:56 3
