the product is still not free for the taking. The product in this case is the physical CD. By digitizing it only, you're violating that. It's like riping movies from Netflix. You're not hurting anyone, you've paid your subscription, but it's still taking something that isn't yours to keep
It's not an easy position to live in today's world but, for me, it's one that I've come to believe I need to take. I shouldn't attempt to impose this on others and if I was harsh, I apologize. I think though, too often, as a society in general, we take the easy decision out of factors other than need such as impatience, ignorance, or even greed.
