this reminds me of one of my clients homes - she put the laundry room right off their bedroom on the third floor - with a chute to the first floor

she said ... why trek upstairs with laundry to put away when the third floor (all bedrooms) is where all the laundry goes ... I toss the towels down the chute for the kitchen and bath on the first floor.
