i've had a hard time accepting any black actor as Roland, only because i've read the books and have always seen Roland as a white dude ...

i just hope they don't screw this movie up and all ... Idris might be able to pull this off and win me over on a black Roland ... and, besides, it might make an interesting dynamic w/ the other characters, given the relationship between Roland and the black chick who falls in love with Eddie over the course of the books ...
