you've been building up to something with great expectations, and then "the moment" happens, and it's a total disappointment.

and no, it's not "total let down" ...

i want to say that there's a word for such a situation, where you're really looking forward to something with the anticipation of it being so well worth it, and then it's just a total bust and a let down.

any suggestions?
