I think that she had no reason to know that she was going to be "rescued" from the walk anyway. So I don't even think she was trying to outsmart her family as much as she was trying to outmaneuver the High Sparrow.

I think she knew she had to sell that conversion speech to Tommen because it was highly likely they were being spied on. Tommen probably doesn't know that it's a fake, but he's basically irrelevant other than as a figurehead.
