I feel like it's very clear that GRRM is not behind the writing for this season. And yes, producers may have the general idea, but lack the flair for pulling it off.
Everyone was throwing around all these theories about what would happen. Jaqen was posing as Arya. Arya put her face on someone else. And how does it get resolved? Arya got stabbed, got better, got in a fight (offscreen) and now she's just going home.
The end result may be the same but it just isn't sexy.
