The power of money in politics is abhorrent. We must change that, but it's very difficult following Citizens United. In fact, it will almost certainly take a constitutional amendment which is very hard to do. But it's what we need.
In the interim, until something changes, I'm with you that the Congressional voters own their votes. But we should not and can not absolve those who use money (for whatever cause) to influence those votes within the current broken system.
