he trusted turner's statement, which wasn't complete and had the lies; but all of the earlier stuff was in court documents that were released last

week.

the judge apparently went with the "innocent kid from the midwest, got in over his head" storyline, and stuck with it.

I don't think it's been said here that the 6 months was apparently recommended by probation folks, because of it being a first time offense, etc.

I want more to be asked about that, because I read comments from people who know these kinds of cases (former d.a.'s and defenders) well that the 6 months in jail + probation is not the norm and that, at least, there is usually prison time when the charge of intent to commit rape is in the mix.
